A long time ago in a town not that far away, Kate and Pete were married and had their Two Brother’s Roundhouse reception crashed by a bunch of Stormtroopers. During their marriage, they had a baby named Clara who has managed to steal the hearts of everyone she meets. Pursued by the rigors of work and life, they all went on vacation in June with their whole family up on Lake Michigan in Wisconsin to save their sanity and restore relaxation to their family….

I had such a great time reconnecting with Kate, Pete, & Kate’s family last month!! I can’t believe it’s been almost FOUR years since Kate & Pete were married!! Every year Kate’s family takes a vacation up to the Sheboygan area in WI, and since they were all together in one place they took advantage of the opportunity for some family photos! The weather wasn’t exactly cooperative…we were all expecting a nice warm, summer beach shoot, but June had other plans this year so we spent about 10 minutes on the chilly windy beach grabbing a few images before heading into the trees to warm up. I can’t say I was too mad about it though, because we still got some great images, and I’m kind of a sucker for a good forest. ;) The location of their rental was the best of both worlds; nestled away in the woods without any internet service, yet just a few steps away from the beach on Lake Michigan. It’s definitely high on my list for the next time I’m looking for a secluded off-the-grid getaway! I felt refreshed just from my short time spent there photographing this bunch! Although, that may have had something to do with the company as well. This tight-knit fam is so kind and welcoming!
