Sunrise Engagement Photos at Washington Monument | Washington, DC Engagement Photographer

Man oh man, am I excited to share this session with you all!! I first photographed Marisa waaaaaaaay back in 2013 when she was getting ready to graduate from high school!. In May I had the opportunity to photograph her engagement photos, and in August, I get to photograph her WEDDING!!! AHHH! This the first wedding I’ll photograph where I’ve previously photographed a person as a senior! Granted, I don’t photograph a lot of seniors, but still! Pretty exciting stuff!

Another exciting and unique thing about this shoot was that I got travel out to Washington, DC to photograph it! Tim is in the United States Army Band and is stationed in DC. With little leave time, and the fact that Marisa will be moving out there after the wedding, it just made sense for us to do the shoot out there! I went to the National Mall with my fam a few years ago, but it was such a surreal experience being at the Lincoln Memorial when it was empty (aside from joggers and other people doing photo shoots!).

By far the best thing about this shoot was getting to know Tim and Marisa more. Marisa has really grown into a lovely lady. She’s beautiful both inside and out, is hardworking, responsible, mature, and is really just a joy to be around. I feel like such an old grandma typing all of that, but it’s true, haha!! Her and Tim are so adorable and comfortable together, and even though they’ve been doing the long distance thing, the strength and depth of their relationship is evident even in the short amount of time I spent with them. I’m so excited for them to be reunited for good in August!!
